Samaritan’s Heart

Samaritan’s Heart seeks to meet spiritual, educational, and societal needs in Haiti. As a nation in desperate need economically and socially, our efforts strive to empower people to approach problems and needs from a biblical worldview. The heart of the good Samaritan was to see a need in a fellow human being and sacrificially meet that need out of a compassionate heart.

The following programs are at the heart of our ministry:

  • Presenting the Gospel: Through a variety of methods Samaritan’s Heart seeks to present the good news of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Samaritan’s Heart provides print and audio bibles (Talking Bibles®) to groups and individuals who hunger and thirst for God’s Word.

  • Providing Education: Affordable education for children in both rural and urban settings should not be a challenge. Samaritan’s Heart seeks to establish and fund schools in the greater Port-au-Prince area (Lillavois) and in Dinise, Haiti.

  • Equipping Pastors: Through seminars and workshops Samaritan’s Heart has improved the theology and preaching of local evangelical pastors. Pastor Josue has a vision for this ministry which includes establishing a theologically sound seminary to educate pastors.

  • Training Teachers: Through seminars and workshops Samaritan’s Heart has improved the technical instruction and overall confidence of local teachers. Certified teachers and administrators from the United States of America have partnered with Samaritan’s Heart schools to provide sound instruction and professional development to Haitian teachers.

  • Building Churches: Following the identification of Christian gatherings and small groups who have access to land suitable for building, SHH will enter into an agreement with this community to build a physical church on their allotted land. SHH will work with local church leadership and American Church groups to safely construct the new church building.

  • Orphanage: After years of structured foster care, Samaritan’s Heart would like to establish an orphanage attached to the school in Lillivois that would serve children who have lost parents due to a variety of situations.

  • Clean Water Initiative: Within the Lillivois compound Samaritan’s Heart has constructed a water distillery to provide clean drinking water to both residents of the greater Port-au-Prince area and visiting foreign missionaries. This effort also provides an additional revenue stream to fund the Lillivois school and orphanage.
